Holy Cow!

Yesterday it dawned on me that I hadn't posted in three weeks.

Yikers!

What the heck's goin' on over here?

Well, the short answer is:

We've been outside.

The slightly longer answer...

I've been mulching and tending to my garden; Joseph started baseball-- and is again a pitching monster; Evan learned how to pump her legs and swing (a moment of pure joy, by the way), and we've been playing a lot of one-on-one basketball-- day and night.

I'm not really any good, but it's a lot of fun...

Oh yes, and two weekends ago-- Joseph's "brother" Zachary spent one night with us.

It was wonderful and hard, all at once (a post on that visit is in progress.)

Since this entry is a little thin on details, I'm filling it in with some images...

Enjoy!

(Coming soon on the diabetes front: News about next week's endo visit and an update on Joseph's 504.)

All of that sounds absolutely wonderful!

LOL about Evan learning how to pump her legs to swing. I felt like Brendon and Jess were 18 and on their way to college when they learned. Now I'm waiting for Jake to figure it out. It is a very freeing thing to not have to push them on the swing.

Brendon's been pitching up a storm too. I'm sure he and Joseph will have plenty to share if we ever get to meet up again :)

I was kind of wondering whether you went on a vacation or something! No need to apologize for time spent on tending to the yard and garden, after spending the winter trapped inside, its great to get out and enjoy the ability to spend time outside!

I'm glad to see that spring has finally sprung there! It's good to have you back.

Is that the music of Andrew Bird I hear? Not familiar with the song. Great video.

What a cool video - and I loved watching you try and box Joseph out. Nice move with the knees. ;)

And Evan is just beautiful! Hope to see you guys soon.

Scott-

It is absolutely wonderful. :-)

Shannon-

Oh yes-- we were all glad when the whole leg-pumping thing clicked for Evan. (And I was thrilled to get that moment on film!)

I'll definitely let you know when we're heading out east again... :-)

Ashley-

Sorry about that.

I'm hoping to carve out more time for the blog in the coming months...

Three weeks without a post is just insane!

Scott-

Thanks for understanding.

This winter we broke the all-time record for snowfall in our city-- over 100 inches.

It snowed again last Monday.

Every day of warm weather feels like a gift.

Jillian-

Thanks. :-)

I've been feeling both sheepish about the lack of posting-- and way out of the loop because I'm ridiculously behind in my blog reading...

Looking forward to catching up with everyone!

Carey-

Big-time kudos!

That is indeed Andrew Bird... the (awesome) song is "Skin is, My."

Kerri-

Ahhh... kudos to you as well for noticing -- and appreciating -- my signature move. ;)

I'll keep you posted on any upcoming east-coast visits... it'd be great to see you again, too.

Gardening!!! Yes! Love it!

Also, not sure if you're interested, but I'm participating vis-a-vis The Debs in the Brenda Novak auction to raise funds for juvenile diabetes...just thought I'd spread the word for the cause! :) http://brendanovak.auctionanything.com/ (Our prize is a black pearl necklace, signed books from each of us, and drinks at the RWA conference OR a bottle of champagne.)

Tag! You're it.

Here are the rules: Once you’ve been tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 weird, random, facts, habits or goals about yourself. At the end, choose 6 people to be tagged, list their names & why you tagged them. Don’t forget to leave them a comment saying “You’re it!” & to go read your blog. You cannot tag the person that tagged you, so since you’re not allowed to tag me back; let me know when you are done so I can go read YOUR weird, random, facts, habits and goals. Have fun!

Sandra - Glad you're back. But I definitely understand wanting to be outside. I can't plant my flower bed yet because of all the weeds & everytime I get ready to work on it, it rains. Oh well...

I remember the baseball days, too. Those were fun. Watching Joseph pitch brought back a lot of good memories. And that Evan - those eyes. She's adorable. How cute that you were able to catch the swinging on video.

BTW, loved the whole video.
